First, the selection of the original glass

The raw glass used to make insulating glass can be colorless float glass, coated glass, toughened glass, laminated glass, etc. Should avoid the use of ordinary flat glass, ordinary flat glass transparency and strength are not up to the requirements. The glass must meet the requirements of the corresponding standards, and can only be used after passing the inspection.

Different batches of glass from different manufacturers are first checked for color differences before cutting.

The cutting size of the glass shall be strictly implemented according to the requirements of the drawing. At the same time, the operator shall pay attention to the glass surface without any obvious defects such as scratches and bubbles.

Two, aluminum strip, insert Angle selection

1. The thickness of the aluminum strip should be between 0.3-0.35mm, the thickness should be uniform and the distribution of air holes should be uniform. Aluminum strip must be more than the oxidation treatment or decontamination treatment needs bending must choose good quality, high-grade products. Improve the utilization rate of aluminum strips.

2. Angle size should be selected well and the surface should be wiped clean.

Three, the use of desiccant

At present, there are three main types of desiccant used for insulating glass:

1. Good absorption capacity of volatiles;

2. The adsorption capacity of inert gas;

3. Ordinary molecular sieves.

Users should choose the appropriate molecular sieve according to their own needs and molecular sieve should have the appropriate particle size (1-1.5mm) and hardness. In addition, the environment of the use of molecular sieve should be dry, and the filling molecules should be used within 1.5 hours to ensure the quality of insulating glass.

Four, the selection of sealant

1. Butyl rubber

Butyl adhesive is the first sealing of aluminum strip insulating glass. It is a hot melt adhesive with very low water vapor transmittance (low in insulating glass glue) and high viscosity. It is an effective barrier to block water vapor between the side of the aluminum strip and glass, but it needs to be heated, pressurized, and extruded on both sides of the aluminum strip by a special machine.

At present, there are more butyl rubber manufacturers in China, but the rubber produced by each company is not the same as heating temperature and pressure. Some butyl rubber manufacturers can not even be coated by machine, often resulting in interruption due to impurities. This requires the user to choose a good quality product, at the same time understand its use requirements.

2. Polysulfide rubber

Polysulfide glue is a very large amount of insulating glass sealant at present. Polysulfide glue has good oil resistance, solubility resistance, and tightness. Polysulfide the glue should have metal oxide as curing agent to use polymerization, the ratio of two components is about 1:10, with the proportion and uniformity of the effect is not too big, so the glue can be machine coated or artificial hand coated.

Selection requirements of polysulfide adhesive: clear color difference between two components; Valid for more than half a year; Strong ability to prevent direct light exposure; Good fluidity and curing elasticity.

3. The adit silicon rubber

Silicon sealant has structural, aging resistance, and prevention of direct light performance, but its cause weakness is high water vapor transmission rate. Therefore, silicone glue is suitable for strong light and poor environments, such as glass curtain walls, and must be used to do the first sealing butyl glue. In the past, China relied on imports for a long time. Now the State Economic and Trade Commission has specially set up a leading group of silicone adhesives to conduct safety certification for structural adhesive. At present, many domestic enterprises have passed the certification.

Five, the use of composite sealing tape

A composite sealing strip is a kind of composite sealing material developed by American chemists in the 1980s.It is a set of supporting skeleton (undulating aluminum belt), sealing (butyl glue), drying (desiccant) in one of the insulating glass raw materials, very big advantages are simple operation process, less waste of raw materials, less personnel, low management cost, good operating environment; The disadvantage is that the rubber strip is slow to absorb moisture and must have special equipment. At present, the price of the adhesive strip is high due to the production limit. The selection of the composite sealing strip should consider the smooth surface, the quality of the aluminum strip, the content of the adhesive and the moderate viscosity.
